DVCTA Scholarship

DVCTA Scholarship

Purpose - The purpose of the DVCTA Scholarship is to reward DVCTA members who have gone above and beyond in their volunteer service to DVCTA. DVCTA scholarships are awarded as contributions toward the cost of attending or participating in educational forums, clinics, and such. They are intended for members at any level and may be for dressage or jumping programs, or both. Both riding and non-riding educational clinics (such as judge’s clinics) are eligible for consideration.
Requirements/Eligibility
  • Applicant must be a DVCTA member in good standing for a minimum of 2 years at the time of application.
  • An individual may apply for a scholarship no more than once every 2 years.
  • A minimum of 20 hours of volunteer service within a 2-year period.

Funds must be used for specifically stated objectives (i.e. clinic, riding camp, seminar, etc.) Scholarship money may not be used for regular lesson programs, tack, clothing, or show expenses. It is to be used for educational purposes only.

The applicant must agree to write an account of the experience and submit it for publication in the DVCTA newsletter. This must be submitted within 60 days of the event or the scholarship is void. The check for the scholarship will be given after the article in the newsletter
is published.

The Maximum amount of scholarship money to be awarded is $500.00.

The scholarship committee makes all final decisions as to whether to award a scholarship and the amount of the grant based on the applicant meeting the above requirements. The applicant must fill out a scholarship form and send it to the committee chair.
