DAD History

The first Dressage at Devon was held in 1975. The lowest level was Training, there was no Breed Division, and the show grounds did not look as they do now.

The second Dressage at Devon in 1976 was the first to offer Breed Classes. The show was selected by the USET to offer the Grand Prix Trophy that was won by Hilda Gurney on Keen.

In 1989 the show date was moved to September as the July date often caused classes to be suspended due to heavy thunderstorms.

Dressage at Devon became a CDI – W in 1990.

In 2007 Dressage at Devon became it’s own entity, no longer a committee of DVCTA.

Dressage at Devon is 50 years old in 2025, and yes, there are some of us around that still remember where it all started.
